The Best Thing You Can Offer A Child

Children know innately who they are; it’s something grownups seem to have lost touch with… they have a way of reminding us.

So… how can we best guide them? After all, though we may be on the way back to remembering, many of our life experiences have trained us away from our inner guidance. Some days it’s seems impossible for me to trust that they are listening to their inner guidance… like when a toddler is climbing onto a tippy table or reaching for a sharp scissors.

What do you do in these kinds of situations? Continue reading

Law of Attraction Part 5 of 5

Transcribing these videos has been a new ‘listening’ for me. It’s interesting to discover (again) how much my mind can wander, triggered by what I’m listening to… only to miss some information. Of course, all happens in perfect timing. Which explains why every time I listen to Abraham I ‘hear’ something new and different.

By listening with the intention to catch every word… different things come to light. Makes me wonder if it might not be a good idea to leave a tape recorder running in our homes at different times… and then go back and transcribe what really went on. You know… that morning battle of getting everyone ready… maybe if we really heard what was going on, we could make some effective changes that would serve the whole family.

Law of Attraction – Part 1 of 5

For the next few posts I’m going to share information about The Law of Attraction… as I understand it. As I’m most in alignment with the teachings of Abraham, it makes most sense for me to share their explanation.

Part of the reason for doing this is because I want us to have conversations about specific issues that come up when you’re living with children… and how you can really live that experience in a more downstream way. Having a basis of understanding this Universal Law will help what’s to come, make sense… perhaps in new ways.

Children Want The Truth

The Truth Matters to Children

What is “downstream” parenting, anyway? It’s a bit like following the path of least resistance… while learning from that resistance. It’s heading in the direction of what you desire. And the biggest challenge to it all is unlearning all of the things we’ve learned… hopefully BEFORE we pass down those faulty lessons to our children.

If you’re like most people you’ve lived some version of this scenario described in The Astonishing Power of Emotions by Esther and Jerry Hicks (The Teachings of Abraham):

You’re not the boss of me!

If you have a child over the age of two… then it’s likely you’ve heard that line at least a time or two.

“YOU’RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME!”

On the surface it may simply be a response from a child resisting what they’re being asked (or told) to do.  Yet I ask you to consider another perspective…

Whether spoken to a sibling or a parent… it’s a good indicator that a child is on the verge of feeling over-powered by someone. And even a young child realizes that there is something ‘off’ about that.

Even a child knows that it is the job of each of us to be the boss of ourselves!

So, if you hear that line coming at you, instead of pushing against it and creating resistance as you may be tempted to do… why not pause a moment and consider how well you are doing when it comes to being the boss of yourself.

Being the boss of yourself means you take responsibility for your own thoughts, your own alignment, knowing the powerful, positive impact your alignment has on all of your relationships.

Discover the thrill of your creation

If you’re going to really appreciate the ease of ‘downstream’ parenting, it seems only fair I share with you a perspective, which happens to be my current perspective… around the idea that there are Universal Laws, guiding you in creating the life (and relationships) you most desire.

If the idea that YOU are doing the creating is a new one to you then you may initially feel a bit of resistance. Yet if you’ll hang with me a bit you may discover an understanding that serves you well.

I’m not trying to guide you towards mansions or opulence or even totally contrast-free relationships with your children. In fact, if I’m trying to guide you toward anything it’s the knowledge that the stream of well-being is there for you to do with it whatever you choose.

There is a significant energy shift going on in the world as a whole and in each of us individually. It’s a vibrational increase. As we step into this higher vibration we’re going to discover some of the “tools” that used to serve us simply won’t work anymore… and… being the creators we are – new tools… or new ways to use old tools will surface.

Several years ago a movie, The Secret, was released and the way it took hold of people is a great example of evidence of the new tools. It’s a movie that shared information about the Law of Attraction.

Of course, there is nothing ‘new’ being shared in the movie… and despite talk of the information being ‘hidden’, if we tell the truth we have to admit it was all pretty much hiding in plain site and has been available for a long, long time.

Today we are vibrationally receptive to the information; And poised to take responsibility for and learn to manage our vibration. And learning to manage your own vibration really is the name of the game. :-)
