Would it surprise you to learn that teens would rather learn about PARENTING and FAMILY VALUES than the mechanics of ‘sex’… i.e. intercourse, contraception and sexually-transmitted infections.
An interesting question was asked this week. I’m sharing it below, along with my response. I’d love to know how you feel and what you would suggest to this Mom. Whether you have a teen in your house or not please leave a comment of your own. We all can benefit through conversation!

I am a single mom of a 13 year old girl she is very good and kind to strangers and all other parents except me. In the last year she has changed a lot and I have also been going through major healing/ deep soul work. I have been really lost this year and totally giving my power away to a man and she has seen my unhappiness and anger. I am not proud of that and taking steps towards changing that. Recently she has threatened to leave say she is leaving this house and talking back a lot. I don’t know why she is so angry I get bits once in awhile , we will have a pretty good conversation and then she just blows up and I try to teach her that that is not the way to react. But the threatening she is going to move somewhere else bothers me. Has anyone have advice on how to deal with that. I calmly say where are you going to go, and then I say that would not be a good decision but she still says she is at 13 years old. Thanks.
